i have a sbr g60-1 turbo it has some shaft play from left to right mabe 2mm and in/out mabe 2mm. but i dont know if this is bad and i need a rebuild:confused:. if it needs a rebuild were do i find the kits? also i can not find any specs on this turbo. when i bought a this car and the guy clamed it can hold 40psi.

ok go ahead and :tease: and tell me im retarded because i cant use a ruler but it it moves like this much_ or less in and out the compressor wheel does not tuch the sides. i have hot driven it sence i bought it the guy spun a rod bearing and im puting in a new crankshaft and decided to check the turbo.

No one was laughing at you. I deal with english to metric conversions and vice versa on a daily basis.

Oh and if this turbo was on a motor that spun a rod bearing then again it Needs to be rebuilt. It will have metal in there, I didn't think mine would, but I took mine apart and guess what, metal, that I could not have gotton out without a rebuild.

ok thanks im just kind of mad that i have to rebuild my turbo because im in the middle of rebuilding my motor because of the rod bearings. i do feel stupid for giving $3700 for this car cause so far everyday now the more i mess with this thing the more it gets worse:|. well if any one knows were i can get a rebuild kit for this turbo lmk

Yea, i'm not sure on the rebuild kit for that turbo, but I can say to hang in there man it will be nice someday :hellyeah:

i hope so. im 16 and money is limited so its hard to get parts to fix this thing. it sucks because my dad has a bad heart and my mom has sezures so they cant work and i cant get a job untill im 18 because it cuts there checks. sucks big c==3

does anyone know were i can get a rebuild kit for this its a slowboy racing
g60-1. also since the crankshaft is scared is it ok to get it turned or do i need a new one

get a job being paid under the table, a lot of labor places will do that. That is what i did at your age!

ya im looking but i live in a small town of 500 people its hard to find under the table jobs

I wouldnt bother rebuilding that SBR crap. I can't say I know anyone who has had one last, my friend did get about 5k out of his g50, but it spooled like butthole. I don't think there's anyone who has ran one at 40psi with any sort of luck.

Id buy a nice evo III 16g if I were you.

i think im going to get a new turbo but i would like to make 400hp+ on pump gas cause its my daily driver (will be when it runs). and if some one wants to buy and rebuild this sbr g60-1 turbo lmk.

You were talking about not having any money, but you want to make 400 horsepower? What kind of a fuel system does this car have, and what type of ecu/tuning does it have? As for the crankshaft, just have it turned. MAKE sure that it is straightened beforehand thought. The rod will also need to be reconditioned that had the spun bearing.

i dont have much money but when i get a chance i will try to get a new one. this car has pte 950cc injectors, walbro 255 fuel pump, dsm link, eprom ecu

ok i read some where(dont ask for link because i cant find it now) that after the turbo has been oiled that some of the play might go away:hmm:wasnt sure if this was true. i did check the turbo for play when it was off the car.

Yes you are correct the oil will take out some of the play in the turbo, but not that much. Test it, turn the turbo uspside down and pour some oil in it, check it out.

Oh and it doesn't matter anyways.

I think you need to learn to walk, before you start running. 400hp on pump, on a budget, is not the easiest thing in the world to do. Get a 16g, get the car running correctly, and don't worry about HP goals. All too often do kids buy these cars, think they need a racecar, but only have so much money to spend. Then youre stuck with a broken car, with cool parts to stare at.
