Right now the head for my 420a is being rebuilt with parts ordered from DSM Graveyard, and i will be installing their turbogrind camshafts as well.
Once that is done i am going to go ahead and install my turbocharger kit which will be running a t3 .63 AR turbo at 8lbs. Im using a vortech fmu with it as well.
Do i need MS right now? I can get it, but i would prefer to do it only if i need to.

You don't need it for an 8 lb build, but if you ever want to run more then you will. I'm not using it, yet. You would see signifigant gains from it though, and have more control of how your car runs.

MS allows you to get the most bang for buck out of your turbo system, I've seen cars with an FMU on 8 psi make 190/210 whp and I've seen a car with lower compression and running 6 psi make 233 whp, being able to control your fuel and spark can make a HUGE difference vs a FMU "tune". I would recommend it highly.

Thanks for the responses i went ahead and bought a kit!
now i only have to put it together.........

Its not as hard as you think. Took me a few days to do it. But i took my time and went slowly all in all it was about 12 hours of soldering. Make sure you get a good iron. Non of that shit crap from radio shack. I used a good weller one to do it. I'm using my MSII on my FB rx7 Fuel injection conversion. Still going on too LOL

Yea i dropped ~$80 for all the stuff to put it together i got anti-static mat, the wrist thing, a holder w/ magnifying glass, and the sodering iron. Im around step 40 right now, so far its been very smooth sailing.

So MS can really make that much fo a differene if I lower my compression and then go turbo? I've read you have to run it "paralelle" with you ECU? If hes installing that with little to no issues, I think I would like to give it a try.

You don't have to run it in parallel with the stock PCM. Most MS systems are capable of running the engine independently.

oh ok im really thinking of getting MS when tax time comes around just new to the whole tuning thing but im a quick learner and good with computers so i might have to give it a try

It's just a matter of connecting more wires.

Which is easier? Stand alone or parralle?

So basicly removemold ECU and replace with MS II

I see I see. okay that settles it, My next Mod should be MS II. Since I'm not that bright I'll need to get a full kit that has everything I need. I've decided to turn my car more into the direction of autocross. Since that GSK in the sky doesnt exsist

MS II with the pigtail can be easy to install. They have a how to on there site to do it. I think its for a 1G turbo thought. They may have something for the 2g nt. But if you pull a schematic of ## ecu pinout and the MSII pinout you can just splice into the factory connector for everything.

You get it done?

Did you ever get the MSII on your 420a?

I'm having problems getting mine going so I was wondering. The car starts for 3 seconds and dies. Super rich also. Replacing injectors from 850 to 630cc's see if that helps bu ibhave a feeling that there's another problem. I've read of guys having the same issues with their new MSII set up in their 420a. still looking for a base map to go off. Anyway I have the MS in my turbo ae86 and I freaking love it. Can't wait to get my 420a up an running.
