Do I Need BOV & Wastegate?

hi all , maybe someone can help me here , i got a 1992 talon tsi awd automatic "I KNOW" but girlfriend cant drive stick, anyway, i want to get a small 16g turbo and was wondering if i need a bov and wastegate, or either of them to install this monster ? i still have the 13g stuck on it and i want to go faster. thanks just wanting to know before i only buy the turbo and mess something up.

most 16gs internally gated , so you shouldnt have any trouble there. You should have the stock 1g Bov , witch should hold boost fine .. You can look into doing the "dodge mod" or "crushing" the bov.

Your stock 1G BOV should be fine for now, maybe in the future when thinking about upping the boost you should crush the BOV or do it now.

Stock BOV is a good choice.

You won't need pistons or rods.

Most of the 16g's are internally gated, just make sure you get a geniune mitsu one and not a knockoff.

Without a boost controller IIRC the wg spring on the e316g is 10lbs.
