detail? Which 50trim and how did you accomplish this

There is no way to fit a internally gated 50 trim without hacking or ditching a fan. As others have said A. Hack B. ditch one of the fans C. Get a slim. D. get a external gate. If you are going with a external westgate you can retain both the factory fans. I'm assuming you want to go with a internal gate You said you didn't want to hack or get rid of the fan so that leaves you with C. Get a slim. They are only like $80 so it's not a big deal. You might be able to find a 50 trim where you won't have to dent the water pipe, but I doubt it. It's really not a big deal. It's not like you have to whale on it with a hammer. I just naturally dented mine when I bolted the manifold to the block with the turbo already mounted to it. FYI I only used one of my fans all this summer in 100+ weather without overheating problems. That is without ac though. These are minmal mods (if you want to call them that) that come with the territory of a big turbo. That being said, you shouldn't base your decsion of what turbo to get on these factors. It should be based on which performs the best and is built properly.

Try some radiator stop leak. I've used it in a turbo car with a bad head gasket and it worked wonders allowing 18PSI to stil be run!! Mark

i went with the 50 trim on the 2 g the one that bolts to stock manifold and it is easy to fit but youll have to pound back a water pipe and clock the turbo a bit. and the stock fans will work youll have to cut the shroud and the fan blades themselves but is really easy just did it on mine like 1 week ago and it went good sweet helped me

Baby Huie whose 50 trim did you get? How much boost have you gotten tuned so far? living in central, NY means 5 months with the car in the garage!! I have to read about other guys rides!! LOL. mark

When I put my RS49 in, I didn't have to bend or beat anything to fit it. But I haven't put my fans in yet since the car hasn't been started just yet. I'll let you know how the fans fit with the turbo, piping, and external. :)

I just put the pte 5031e on my car saturday, you don't have to dent the water pipe much but I will say one thing I haven't read anywhere else. I broke the seal on my water pipe were it goes into the water pump. I assume the vibrations from me wailing on the water pipe a few times broke the seal. Its a very small leak...and I hope I can just put some silicone around the joint and fix the leak. I sure would hate to take the water pipe off now since I didn't find it till after I got everything back together. Here's my pics.

Join the club...yea I had to take mine off and replace the oring. They just get old after awhile, and I guess mine just decided to unseat from the beating it got.

I'm in process of bolting up an old-school AGP L2 (the one with the modified mitsu-7cm housing) :D

I was able to clearance the water pipe back alot by bending it back on the bracket.. though the water feed boss is impedes me clocking the housing far enough to clear the stock fan (even with one of the supports removed).

So it's either a $10 used NT water pipe or slim fan (or both) for me.

BTW.. the AGP internal wategate setup seems to clear the D/S fan (though I don't use mine anymore)

I have a t3/t04e 57 trim. I didnt dent the water pipe. I was running one fan for a while (w/ fmic too) with NO heating problems and I live in SoCal. Just for peace of mind I got a spal slim fan and stuck it in front of the radiator behind the intercooler.
