if i do a diy intercooler setup i have a few questions because i have never looked closely at a done by profesional kit.

1) how do you mount it to the car? i would like a pic
2) where do the pipes go through to get to the underhood area, sorry i had bad wording but i couldn't think of much. pics please
3) what kind of a core do i want? i would like to have a/c work when i am done.
4) what needs to be cut? pics please

thanks.

if i don't make one i think i will go with the huge greddy one, is this a good buy?

I am making my own FMIC kit with a Spearco core and self made piping (Mandrel bends from SUmmit Racing). Ill try and make a quasi write up. I hope to do it this weekend so Ill take lots of pics and take some notes. THis is a lot cheaper then Greddy and lot better in my opinion. Try SBR or evn JR's kit on Ebay before Greddy kit.

There are tons of write-ups on this. What kinda stuff you want depends on your goals. The best kind of intercooler to go with would be a bar&plate style core. If you're looking at just street type of power, well then get a core about the size of the average DSM Vendors "street" core. If you are more of a race application, then get a core the size of DSM Vendors "race" core. For the mounting. Most cores will have little tabs to mount it with bolts. For the piping, once it's mounted, just look in there and decide the bends that you'll need. For the driver side to the turbo, you'll need two 90* bends to turn the piping around towards the turbo. And from there, it depends the way your turbo outlet faces. For the driver side, one 90* to get it pointing to the rear. a 45* to make it start going up over the top of the tranny. Then a long piece of straight pipe until it reaches the same level as the TB elbow. Then another 45* to poing it back down and mate with the TB elbow. Hope that helps get a little mental picture of it in your head. If you're confused, go to like RnR's site and just look at the piping. The route I just explained to you is the route used by RnR, so you can get a better visual of it if you visit his site and look at the pictures. Good luck.
