I was replacing the cam cover gasket and decided to clean the lifters since I had the cover off anyway I noticed the head has a bunch of crap on it and I was thinking if this is just normal for a car that has 125k miles (most likely yes), or could something be causing this i.e. bad turbo, blown head gasket or something alse? thanks for the reassurance guys

Wow, that looks kind of nasty. How often do you change your oil? Or how long have you had your car, maybe the previous owner didn't change their oil very often. The head starts to get stained and look gold/brown if you don't change your oil routinely.

I've had my car for a year to be exact, damn maybe they drove it hard, I change my oil every 3k miles. I've cleaned it up as much as I could, hope that will do something. Do you think this is a major problem or I can still drive for a while?

It should be fine.

a treatment of moa will take care of that for you no biggie dont know if you know what it is or where to find it but i use it at our shop on customers cars all the time works well it is a bg product may be you can do some looking aroud u just pour it in the engine after the oil change now i am very paticular about oil additives but this one really is good almost all the dealerships around here uses it even the bmw and mercedes dealers
