Hey guys. So i just picked up a 91' Talon TSi AWD, and I already have a 93' Talon TSi FWD. The 93' has a built 2.3L stroker motor and I want to swap it to the 91' because it's AWD. I just wanted to know if there's any small differences or anything between the 91' and the 93' or the FWD and AWD that might give me some problems. From what I can see it looks to just be a direct swap, take one out and drop the other in. But is there any different electrical connectors or anything of the sort I need to be aware of?
Thanks, Kyle

The 93 has a 7 bolt motor, you might have to change your flywheel and clutch. Other than that it's a drop-in.

Also another thing is that the AWD flywheel is a little smaller than the FWD one so you will need to address that issue. You might be able to just take the FWD starter and transfer it to your other car.

From what I know all the turbo clutches are the same so you may just need a new flywheel. I don't recall if the 1g 7 bolt motor mounts attach to the transmission or block. You'll need to double check that as I know the 91 will use motor mounts on the block not the transmission. I think there are also some minor differences between the FWD and AWD ECMs.

Only difference from ECU's is the AWD doesn't have a speed limiter due to the speed rating of the OE tires. All 1g blocks have 3 mounts on them. Once you get into the 2g's then its 3 on the transmission and 1 on the motor.

You'll need a 7 bolt flywheel and starter alignment plate if your stroker is a 7 bolt. 91 to 94 all use the same electronics so you won't need to swap anything there.

+1 and you may be able to cut your starter plate to work

Alright, so just to clarify, if i have a 7 bolt flywheel for a FWD it wont work, I need the AWD flywheel? Or is it possible to use the starter from the FWD and modify the starter alignment plate to fit? Has anyone done this before?
Thanks, Kyle!
