Different types of ISC motors?

Thunder Bay,
I'm going to try changing my ISC, but while looking at them on Ebay I started thinking that there might be different types. For example, one seller lists that the ISC will only work with 91' and up Talons. Are 90's different? Also, some sellers say that the ISC they're selling is the new revised version, I'm not sure if that's ok for my car either.

The '90 had a different throttle body and CAS setup. You would need a different ISC for it. The 91 and up were all the same.

Thanks for the quick replies. I took a look under my hood a few minutes ago and tried to find the ISC, by looking at a diagram I foudn on the net, for a 2g Eclipse. Are the 90's ISC's in the same place? I feel dumb but I was looking in the exact spot and didn't see it. I want to test it before I order a new one in, I read about testing the resistance between the pins, but I don't even know where it is or how to get at it.

If you have a 1990 TEL, the ISC will be on the underside of the throttle body. The connection that you want to test will have 6 pins in it. You can look up the testing procedure in the VFAQ. Bascially you want to test the resistance between pins 1-2, 2-3, 4-5, and 5-6. The resistance should be 28-33 ohms.

Good luck!
