I just bought a new JDM motor for my 90 laser rs turbo. Well, the engine I recieved is a post 91 version with water oil cooler. I would like to replace it with my air oil cooler, but are the oil channels on the block the same for the two different oil filter brackets? and would I encounter any unforseen problems. In addition, does anyone have a blow up cross section view of the 90 oil filter housing, and how do you check the oil pressure relief valve? Thanks....

Did you find your answer?

I am investigating the same thing. My oil cooler is leaking on my '91, and I want to replace it with the air cooler type from the 89-90.

Any answers?

Thanks,
Patrick
