Is there a way to tell the difference between auto and manual AWD transfer cases? I have 3 of them I want to get rid of but I'm not sure what they came out of. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I'm not exactly sure but I remember reading this in a thread not more then a week ago. The manual transfer cases have 5 bolts and the automatic transfer cases have 6 bolts i think. You could also probably count up the splines on each transfer case input and that might tell you something about the years they came out of.

They are all 23 spline and have 5 bolts. Does anybody know this for sure? I really need to unload these things but can't until I find out for sure what they are.
