ok, now i am confused. My friend is upgrading the turbo on his 2003 evo. what turbo is on this car, the evo3 16g, or the "evo8 16g". I have driven the car and it hauls ass and seems like it would be a BIG upgrade for my 98 gst, but I have heard from another thread that it is a waste of time/money and that this is a small turbo. Please help me out here A.S.A.P. because he is sellin it SOON! -matt

The Evo 8 twin-scroll 16G turbo, as what I had read, is considered as a small 16G turbo.

The Evo 3 16G is a even higher flowing than the regular big16G and can support 400-420 hp.

It would need alot of work to use that turbo on a GST but it can be done. My money will go on an EVO 3 16G, since it has better flow and installs on a 2G using an install kit (No fabrication of any sort needed).

I know this has been asked alot and discussed, but I have had both cars and tried doing this stuff myself, but EVO 8 turbo will not work with your car. :)

hey, thanks for not flaming me. we just opened up both our hoods, and yeah... our motors are opposites. from looking at it, I would say the turbo on the evo 8 would be near impossible to bolt on. Consider this thread closed and anyone who also asked this know that it will not work (within reason) thanks alot guys -matt
