Did I mount the wastegate correctly?

I have an SBR manifold that has the wastegate port on runner 1. I am using a 38mm wastegate. The wastegate came with two flanges...do I need to use those flanges?

What I did was put the valve seat into the bottom of the wastegate, then put the composite gasket between the wastegate and the manifold then bolted it down. Is this correct? Or did I need to use one of those extra flanges for some reason??

So I was correct in mating the wastegate directly to the manifold then?

Also, I cut a bit out of the center portion of the composite gasket...this was before I realized I didn't have the valve seat installed. Hope it doesn't leak since it isn't full size anymore. If so, guess the bi*** comes back off and I will buy a new gasket.
