Did I just waste 65$?

Ok i bought a 3G/ EVO 8 MAF off of the classifieds last week, To find out when it gets here its been HACKED... No honey combs at all in it. Should i even waste my time with it?

That sucks, bud!

Mcmaster car had honeycomb material. The cells are maybe 2 times bigger though and how you would cut it would be interesting. DSMLink (if you have it) also has MAS compensation airflow sliders that will compensate for the disproportionate difference in airflow at idle and low rpms due to the MAF honeycomb removal.

junkyard MAS is the way to go if you want to replace the honeycombs.

Good luck

If you have link you can use MAFcomp to adjust for the air flow changes.

Just dial in the idle tune and closed loop (cruise tune (link will make suggestions for the cruise tune when you perform it))

you should be ok if you have link, just get it tuned as if you added any other airflow mod (SMIM, bigger IC/IC pipes.. etc etc)

If it still runs like crap after trying to get it dialed in, just bite the bullet and replace the MAS. being out 65 bucks is alot better than if you had gotten scammed on a large mod
