Diamond Plate Floor Mats

Yeah, that was another curiosity of mine was wither they scratched easily and how they are installed.

If you use aluminum, you could anodize it to make it more scratch resistant.

They do scratch pretty easily, but it just looks like a big dull spot. I guess you could polish them every week or so, but you'll have to use a buffer. It doesn't really work if you do it by hand. They are a lot easier to clean than a carpet mat though. You just pull them out and hose them off. Mr. Talon, they are not bolted down or anything, they just lay there in the sunken area of the floor.

diamond plate = slippery when wet

when it rains and your not careful you WILL bust your ass.

i saw my friend run to his car in the rain go to step in and BAM. tailbone to door jam. he layed in the rain for a good 5 mins until he got up.

D.P. fllor mats look ok i guess.. but why not just get a good set of platic/rubber mats colormatched with your car?

they fit god, scratch easy nad are a bi*** to keep shiny....questions answered......LOLok atmy profile i have them

ridiculous idea! why get metal plates instead of nice light carpet? thats for you racers. also they are slippery, scratch, u can bend it and shit like that. stick with the carpet mats

Its your car...do to it what you like. I myself was thinking of getting a set and having them powder coated to math the color of the car.

They will heat up my car 1000x in 100 degree heat. But they look ok

You if I could powder them black that'd be pretty sweet. Ditto with the 1000 degree thing. My interior already gets really warm, but he it might be worth it. I have never seen a car with them in person, so that's why I'm a little weary of getting them.

They look alright but they'll get scratched up from all the dirt on your shoes and they'd be a pain to keep looking clean. If you want to buy a set for car shows and put them in on meet days/show days that would probably work out. As a daily accessory they serve little in the way of function and the form would be hard to maintain.

They'll be slippery as you know what when it rains, just like metal brake and gas pedals. It can affect your control of your car if your heel slips for some reason while braking. I prefer knowing that I have a firm footing down there.

Do what I did make your own and split the cost of the sheet metal with one of your buddies wanting them to...it worked out good and cost half the price as ones alraedy cut... :thumb:
