I'm trying to diagnose a check engine light that seems to come on at random, after a few days. I can reset the light by disconnecting the negative terminal of my battery, or pulling the yellow double fuse under my hood, but after a few days to a week the light comes back.

My car runs great and seems to show no other signs of trouble. I'm trying to get the CEL code, but that is not as easy as it seems.

I took my car to a service center, they tried to connect to my ecu with a big scanner I assume OBD2, but he said he couldn't connect to the ECU

I decided to research pulling a CEL code with a volmeter, but every port on each page is different, and none look like the ports I've found under my dash.

Do these ports look familiar to anyone, if so which is used to pull the CEL code and how? Do I need a special diagnostic tool or a OBD2 scanner? (last resort)

I've tried each pin on both connectors against a chassis ground, and a few have solid 10-12v, one has 5v, the rest show no voltage. Neither one came in pulses like some sites suggest.

Has anyone been through this with a 95 eagle talon tsi awd?

You cannot read OBD2 with a voltmeter like you could OBD1. It has an interface where it "talks" to a scanner which you must use. You can take the car to Autozone where they will read the code for free. The 3rd picture (and the 4th if it is a blowup of the 3rd) is the plug you hook the scanner to.
