What are some unique characteristics of the t-25 or 14b Turbo. Trying to figure which I have, so I can order a FMIC.

Thanks.

This is where the CAS should be correct? I purchased a Blacktop.

Do the 7-bolts look like this?

LOL, yes that looks to be a 6-bolt. Good thing people just say things on this site. You can search this site to identify if it is a true 6-bolt. Oil pan, like you said, is the place to look. You have a 14b turbo it looks like. By the time you get the parts on and do the required maintenance, that thing should pull like a champion. Good luck with your build sir. This site has everything you need to know in order to do everything you want.

Thank you. I appreciate your post.

It gets quite confusing when someone just randomly comments, especially when your new to this DSM world.:banghead:

from the pics you posted previously it looked like there was no cas (### there wasnt) this is what i based the thought that it was a seven bolt on. since this is not the case and it is a 6bolt, you are going to have problems with the 2g intake manifold. the ports are not the same as the 6 bolt head and this results in a huge vaccuum leak. i am guessing this engine was never started in this condition. good luck

Correct. According to this kid, it hasn't even been cranked yet.

Your saying the only way to correct this problem is to install a 1g Intake manifold?

How do you know the intake mani isn't a 1g? Don't a lot of 1g guys upgrade to a 2g Throttle Body? I think your just basing all your statements off the pics. Just guessing is what your doing. Not a good way to get rep. If there "is" a leak, it can easily be found with a BOOST LEAK TEST. That is much later down the road. Right now, he is just trying to get the car running.

its funny that you are telling me that i am just guessing when your whole response here is a guess. If you have ever seen a 6bolt intake manifold you would know that they look completely different (ECI MULTI printed in clear site). also 6 bolt guys using a 2g tb would be a downgrade. so yea "just guessing" is what you are doing. I base my posts off of experience with dsms, not some "guess" that i thought i saw somewhere on the forum. Now back to the OP- yes the easiest way to correct this is to get a 1g intake manifold. if you are have doubts about what i am telling you, you can look up from underneath the enggine to view the underside of the intake manifold. you will be able to see the open edges of some of the ports on the head.

look down the front of the motor, if the trans has a bolt hole that doesnt line up to the motor then its a 6-bolt, also look at the back of the oil pan towards the trans if its straight then its a 6-bolt if has like a "v" indent then its a 7=bolt, and yes it can have a 7-bolt head on a 6-bolt block and have a modified oil pump housing or adapter from kiggley racing to run a crank sensor

:confused:okay i know this is an old thread but i just installed what i thought was a 14b and now im not sure. the engraved numbers are 40 and thats not on the list on the first page
