Ok I know some of you are tired of seeing threads like this and I apologize. But Ive been lookin thru many threads and havent found the answer..
I was driveing home last night and heard a loud bang then felt the whole car shake.(I was not boosting just crusing raining like hell) I then seen the batter, srs, air bag and a bunch of other lights come on. So I rushed home (didnt wanna get stuck in the pouring rain). I pulled into my drive way, and shut it down. popped the hood and seen smoke, then seen oil leaking like crazy.( it didnt run dry, the dip stick is at the half way mark, it never leaked before this) As I kept looking I found the crank shaft pully broken in two, and seen a mark on the frame from where the pully touched.
Now my question is how can I determine crank walk?? I depressed the clutch and checked the crank shaft for end play but feel nothing. There is oil leaking at both the front and rear of the engine as I said never leaked b4 has 134,xxx on the dash.

if you have a dial indicator you can magnetize it to the crank case and set the end of the dial indicator upto the crankshaft end. have someone turn the motor while you look at the dial indicator. if the dial indicator shows fluctuations you may have crank walk. call the dealership and get the specs for play on the rankshaft end and if you are out of spec you have crank walk. if you dont have a dial indicator you should take it to a shop that does and have them check it out. other than that it sounds like you at least blew your crank seal ifnot both. time to tear down and rebiuld buddy. sorry.

Thank bro Ima see if I can borrow a diel, hopfully it just the crank seal and crank pulliey that needs to be replaced. Now if it is crank walk would you sugesst another 7 bolt block, or switch over to a 6 bolt and put my 2nd gen head on it?
