1G Detach Transmission to remove engine?

Whats the best way to unmount the transmission to take the engine out of a 90 TSI AWD

Drop the trans out the bottom and take the engine out the top. Or pull them both together. It depends on what toold you are working with. I'd get a service manual or go on here...

I whould take the tranny and engine both out and do a solid inspection on the two 1990 your bound to run into some old parts that need replacing anyway.
