Ok well im getting a Tsudo or Megan downpipe soon and they delte the CAT witch I want to do but I DONT want to have a CEL... I hear that getting rid of the CAT will foul 2nd O2 sensor and throw a CEL... my car has a fedral ECU and im wondering if maybe ONLY the california ECUs will turn the check engine light on for fouled 2nd O2? so basicly if my car will set the light on is there a way that is easier than the VFAQ way to delte or just make the ECU think theres still a CAt?

My car throws a CEL every now and then with no cat. If it didn't, then the emissions system wouldn't be doing its job very well now would it?

If you want to completely eliminate the problem, you could use an o2 sensor simulator such as this: http://www.o2sensorsimulator.com
Other brands are available, all do pretty much the same thing.

They arent very expensive and the O2 sensor still stays in place, you just tap into the wires to make the ECU think everything is all good :)
