As some may have noticed that I have started posting in here again, I had to take a break from the project about this time last year. I rebuilt my engine after the car sat for almost 3 years...my ex wife detonated the original engine to its doom. I got it all together, and got to drive it a few times before I broke the ear off the block where the trans bolts up on the front side...OUCH! Needless to say, I wanted to throw a stick of dynamite under the car at that point. I was going to have the ear welded back on via nickle rod, but have not had much luck finding anyone that can do it.

I have new found hope however, as I plan to make a new mount for the tranny off the front motor mount seeing as its held up on a few cars so far. The mount will be made pretty soon, and the Laser will be alive and on the road once again! Then I can park my little pickup for a while (99' S-10 Xtreme) and prepare it for its LS2 swap.

Here are a few pics of the car last summer, and the last is how it sits this very moment.

Motor pulled...did this swap by myself in 2 days, in my sloped driveway. Fun!

Thanks for the kind words! The LS2 pics will be coming soon, still waiting on shipping. I have a few pics somewhere of the T-56 going in there, but they are hardly exciting... That project has not quite started yet, I still have the gutless 4 cylinder in there for the moment. I had a 5.3 from a Silverado in the garage for a bit, but got an excellent opportunity to pick up the LS2 from a cousin of mine in NJ. It was going to go in a boat, but they scrapped that idea for a Hemi. Go figure. We don't deal with a lot of inboard motorboats here in Colorado... but they are really into it.

If there is enough interest, I guess I could post pics of that build in here too as it unfolds. :) First things first, gotta get the DSM out of the garage...
