I bought a Dejon mbc and I am home for the weekend from college and wanted to install it. i have never installed one before, so i searched on here and vfaq and found a real good directional diagram. I have one question though. In this guys installation steps he had a re-circulated BOV and tapped into that hose. Unfortunately I don't have a recirculated BOV and was wondering if there is an easier way of doing this? I am running the stock t-25 turbo too. Visual Frequently Answered Questions - Home Page there's the vfaq i was talking about.

thanks

Come on man, your a college kid so you should know this stuff! LOL

Check your link because it goes to vfaq's web page and not the article you were trying to link to, I'm guessing this is it? ---> Hallman MBC Install

If it is the above link I wish these articles were DELETED from history, I swear everytime I meet a new DSM'r they follow this crap and its wrong. You should never tee into your bov vacuum line OR your mbc/wastegate vacuum line, EVER!.
I'm sure your asking why? The reason why you have a wastegate is to control boost and you want it to respond as fast as possible without spiking or creeping. The closer to the pressure source is to the turbo the faster the wastegate/boost controller can "see" the psi and regulate it.
The bov pressure source is right off of the IM, by tapping into it to run your mbc thats about as far away from the turbo as possible. Boost spike occurs because the mbc/wastegate can't control boost until the entire systems been pressurized, once it sees the boost then its business like usual. Hook it up the correct way and all of the above doesn't apply... :)

Heres how it should be attached...

Should there already be a place to hook the hose up to my IC pipe? I'm still running the stock smic, but i do have a fmic waiting in the garage for when i get the e316g.

And yes that was the vfaq i was looking at haha

doesn't matter if your bov is recirculated or not, it has a vac/boost line going to it. That is the line you tap into. But if you have a t25 then you have a boost source nipple on the compressor of the turbo so there is no need to tap into anywhere. Take the intake of your turbo and you'll see what im talking about.

Oh and by the way, i know a bunch of people are gonna come in here and tell you to recirculate your bov so i though i would say it first.

So i hook it up to the waste-gate and the boost source nipple on the turbo? I apologize before hand this is my first turbo build so i'll ask a lot of dumb questions

And trust me I hate not having a recirculated BOV, but it's just not in the budget right now to get a new intake and such.

Optimally you should have a nipple on the j pipe directly off the turbo on a 1g or on the comp housing on a 2g. I have boost spike issues because my MBC is tapped into my BOV line.

DO NOT TAP INTO THE BOV LINE

The stock t25 has a nipple on the compressor housing that you can use as a pressure source for you mbc, the 16g does not. Look over your FMIC kit piping in the garage and see if any of the IC pipes have a nipple taped into them for a vacuum source. If they don't your going to have to drill and tap one of the lower IC pipes or the j-pipe before you install the kit. This is where the 1g's run the pressure source using the 14b turbo...

Right off the j-pipe since the tdo5 14b/16g compressor housing doesn't have one.

There is a nipple on the compressor cover of the turbo. That is where you boost source is. Don't worry about anything else, this is THE spot you need to use. What everyone else is talking about is a new boost source you will need once you put that 16g on.

GUS!!! Is that you?

Your sidemount IC has nothing to do with the install of your boost controller. This should clear things up for you...
