datalogging and parts advice

hello i have a 98 gsx w/98ecu and heres the following im having installed:delta 264/272s,topline revised lifters,walbro 190,delphi 650s, and a safc. my friend said ill need a timing belt tensioner pulley,new timing belt, and a datalogger. Will i need a gates timing belt or oem? ive looked up so much on datalogging, i cant afford link at the moment so what exactly do i need to datalog? i have a laptop. Ive looked into evoscan but dont know what exact cable and software(ecuflash?) i need..can someone please help me?

Ditch the safc and go with ecuflash w/ evoscan. There are so many limitations and drawbacks associated with running an safc, it's rediculous.

You should already have a flashable ecu, and the money you spend on the safc could be used for the openport 2.0 cable. You're also going to need a wideband (I prefer the Innovate lc-1).
