When changing the dash out from a gray to a black one is it necessary to change the dash wiring harness? I am pulling the black one from a 97 Gs eclipse, and put it into a 95 Gs-t. So are there any differences in wiring for them? I know they will plug in because I tested that, but with one not having a boost gauge stock I don't know if the wiring is different.

I am leaving the stock cluster, I am changing the dash itself;but didn't know if I needed to switch the wiring harness from the original dash to the new dash, I didn't see the point in doing it if it isn't different.

I understand your problem and to be honest im looking for some of the sam info like can you take the 1985 dash out of the 2G eclipse and put it in the 1999 2G eclipse GSX.

I know they are similar but i got two of them and like the 1985 dash more for the color and the look im trying to get.

So can it?:banghead:

Why would you need to switch the wiring harness? You are putting in a new dash, its just plastic. Not electrical...im not sure im following you here. Everything will fit the same or you just need to cut and make room for other pieces.

there is a wire harness that is connected to the underside of the dash that goes from the center console area right behind the area to all the gages and switches in the dash. when you pull the dash out it goes with it.

going from a turbo dash to a turbo dash there shouldn't be any differance... not sure about doing a non turbo to turbo swap though... it isn't all that hard to swap i have had mine out a couple of times. i was going to add a couple of extra wires to the harness for future expansion (extra lights in the gages and what not). and i know there is no difference between auto to manual with the under dash harness anyway. at least not on the two that i messed with anyway.

you have to swap the wires, i did this also. i have gst95 and i swap my grey center console for black one from 99rs. it was a little different, more wires. its not hard swapping the wires. very easy.
