well i was out beating on my car and had a hard shift into second. my dash lights went out. the lights include the lights for heating controls and things like that. ok, so i check the fuse which was a 10 amp under the dash. i found that someone before me put a 25 amp fuse in there instead. the fuse was ok. the blinker illuminates along with the brights emblem when on, and warning lights work (Check Engine, Brake, Seatbelt, Door ajar, etc) where do i trace from here. could it have taken out my dimmer switch somehow? im clueless and a search really didnt yeild too much helpful infomation. thanks in advance.

It could have taken out the dimmer switch. Mine got taken out that way. When mine was borken, everything was at the half brightness, not completely off.

alright is there any specific way on checking a dimmerswitch? i looked in my haynes manual and found nothing..then again the haynes manual has nothing to offer :thumbdown

the lights done come on at all..the dimmer switch isnt doing anything. i checked the tail relay and that was good. my tail lights also work.

Are your taillights on when your headlights are or just when someone presses the brake pedal? If they only light when someone presses the brake pedal, then it's the fuse under the dash.
