I drove my vr4 last night and all of the lights worked fine. I go to go for a drive tonight and the dash and gauge illumination lights aren't working. The high beam, abs, seatbelt, etc. lights are working, but not the background that lights up the gauges. Also, the dash for like the A/C controls is not light up, like the AC button when I push it does not light up, along with the hazard button. I checked a few fuses but they didn't look blown. I did find a blown fuse in the underhood box and one that said "tail" had a 30A blown fuse and it said it needed a 10A, so I put in a 10A and it blew already. I don't know if that matters though. help! thanks!

Check EVERY fuse. I know it may sound retarded, but sometimes if u got a random fuse blown, it may effect all the other ones. Once I had a coolant line blow that f-ed up my alternator. Then it wouldnt even roll over or have any lights turn on. I took it to 2 shops and nobody could figure it out. It was a damn fuse LOL. Hope this helps.

Yes, that is your culprit!, if you want to make sure if it is. Turn on your running lights, if your not sure how, turn the knob for your headlights to come on, one click forward. Then get out, and see if your taillights are on. Not the brake lights, those will work, but just the regular running taillights. If you keep blowing fuses, you have a short somewhere, try a slightly bigger fuse like the 30 amp that was in there.

Yep, your issue is with the fuse. If you replace the fuse and your lights still don't work then it's your dimmer switch. I had the same problem a few months back. You can pick up a used dimmer switch for dirt cheap since most people don't realize the price of them new. I picked mine up for $15 shipped.
