Posting this up for a friend

I blew my sub out and 5 mins later The coolant brake and battery light is on and the temp gauge goes above the meter

Fans work, fusses are good, alt is good. Any suggestions are helpful thanks

check the voltage the alt is putting out, when my altenator went out, instead of producing 0 voltage it started full fielding and going up to 18 at some times, when it would go above 14.5v (I believe that was the voltage) all those indicators would come on until the alt's voltage came back down into an acceptable range, changed the alt and then the problem went away, I was running a pretty decent sound system in the car at that time and the factory alt just couldn't handle the load i guess.

He tested it by disconnecting the battery, at that time there was a slight voltage increase

Edit: he has a 2G and the amp has been disconnected

This is not a good test on newer cars, you risk damaging something.

Check the output of the alternator with a multimeter or remove it and bring it somewhere to be tested.

Blurred: that's the next step
Tyrler: he said there was some smoking in the belt area, but the belts stayed on. Thanks everyone

He's at work now, so his replys and solution will be later

I'd have him make sure the belt is spinning. Sounds like something locked up (waterpump or alternator possibly) and the belt is just sitting while the crank spins.

Sure taking off the alter means that is it putting out something, it may just not be enough. I should of specified, Test VOLTAGE. 10 volts will keep the car running just not very well. The engine fans will spin but be weak because they arn't getting full power (my reason for heating up).
