From reading about the divided set ups it seems that the connected wastegate ports more or less defeats the purpose of separating the exhaust pulses from each other. My plan:
Cut off the exhaust tube
cap off the hole in the flanged side
Add a flange on the non flanged side and use it to cap it off with another vband flange, cya in case one 45mm gate isn't enough.
This separates the exhaust pulses and basically puts the holset back to where it was from the factory, waste gate off of one half of the manifold, but with a much bigger waste gate. The turbo going on is a hx40 in a 17cm divided t4 housing.
Why am I putting the effort in on this manifold, Simple I have it and it was cheap.
My question, I dont know enough about flow to know if I am going to have boost creep. The car has plenty of fuel to support 30+ lbs of boost (mod list not updated)
I dont know may other types of cars that require dual waste gates other than just for balance. Is my thought process on this flawed? Am I wasting my time? all thoughts are appreciated
