Looks good man

That makes two of us. Hopefully my stroker will be ready for CMI. I won't rush things though, if it happens it happens. Best of luck with SBR getting your block done in time. Your setup looks sweet!

I am getting the motor in 12 hours from now! Wednesday at 11:30am-12 noon...need to give it a good hard break in, then take it to FFTEC to get it tuned and hopefully ready for CMI.

I am curious to why???

I had it on my old 20g turbo setup and worked great! It only has about 200 weekend miles.

It would be wise to pressure test that core before installing it as SBR cores are somewhat notorious for leaking. Now, I have no experience myself with their cores leaking, but there has been several posts in the last few months about peoples brand new SBR FMIC setups leaking because of crappy welds.

I'll see if I can dig up some links. . .

YOU GUYS WON'T BELIEVE WHAT THOSE @$#!#@$$ AT SBR DID????

I got my motor today finally after 8 long weeks....started installing it on my car and they f*cken installed a 2g motor mount (by timing belt)!!!!!!!!!! WTF do I do now???

I AM SO PISSED AT THEM.....

I called them up right now and they said that my invoice says 1g 6bolt longblock but that they "accidently" confused it with another invoice for a 2g!!!!! HELL NO!!!! Now I don't even know if what I ordered is actually in the motor...

I am stuck in California with a motor I can't install while SBR is back in Pennsylvania running around figuring out what BS excuse to give me....

DAMN....there goes CMI for me....for all of you who end up going to CMI @ Sacramento, good luck, I guess I will be spectating.

This is what I mean.....

Is this a simple fix or does it require taking off the timing belt...I won't mess with the timing belt (haven't mastered that). Any ideas???

Same here man, I think this is the last time I deal with them...here is all the sh*t that went wrong with my recent experience with SBR....

I ordered a GT35R for my buddy from SBR (I paid with my CC and my buddy paid me cash)...a week after I place the order, I get an email from Cragger (SBR) saying thanks for the purchase and that GT35R's are taking 14-16 days to build. Its cool so far.

A few days after placing the GT35R order, I had ordered the SBR Stage 2 motor over the phone and paid $5500 for it...again cragger told me 5-6 weeks to build...I am cool with that.

3 weeks later, i still have not heard anything from them regarding my buddy's gt35 so I call them up and they tell me that they are waiting for a part and that they will ship it out asap once they are done. One week later, still no turbo. Called them up again, and they say that they haven't shipped it out because they are not done polishing the comp. housing, but that they will be done the following day. I call them up again the following day because my buddy is getting mad and they are still not done....I finally got the turbo for my buddy 5 1/2 weeks after purchase!!!!

I had also sent them my mildly ported 2g exh manifold that was tapped for a greddy egt and powdercoated silver....so that they could port it out even more and take out one stud that had broken where you screwon the heat shield. They charge me 100 to port, and 25 bucks to take out the stud...ok whatever....They send me back the manifold with the gt35r that I had purchased for my buddy and WHAT DO I FIND??? They sent me a completely different manifold and the only reason i knew it wasn't mine was because it wan't tapped for the EGT....and now they won't even refund me my $25 for taking off the stud ### technically they did the mistake.

Now with the motor, I am seriously speechless....I can't believe they ####ed up this bad.

yea that really sucks I know how you feel, since Ive been trying to rebuild a motor for the past 4 months and everytime we take it for specs or parts get screwed in it needing something else and draining my pocket. I ordered pistons for it that ended up being ####ed up ( long story ) and wasted money there... Im finaly done with the build up and going to be dropping it in in the next couple days. . . Patience is a virtue. but its a bi*** too... a man can go crazy in the process LOL
If I were you I wouldnt touch that motor because they may hold you responsible for anything that happens, that probably isnt even your motor... Probably someone elses set up, and the other person has yours and probably is having a ball in what you ordered knowing they didnt order all of what they got...
Man goodluck, and the comment you made about gettig out of the whole dsm thing and this being your last build up, I dont blame you especially for reasons like this since it hurts your pocket, and makes you get so down waiting for all kind of stuff that got screwed because of someone elses fault. Start wondering is it even worth it huh...
Ive felt like that a lot, well I guess dont give up on it just yet since you already got so much invested on that little project... 1

Did you hear back from SlowBoy yet? You would figure something like this they would be super fast to fix. Considering how many customers are on here. I was going to buy some parts from them within the next week or two but now im doubtfull.

MachV doesent seem to be much better. I have sent them 3 emails now with no reply. It shouldent be that difficult you know. Dont dick your customers around and your business will do well.

I called them up and they told me that they would call me back in 30 minutes...2 hours passed by and I decided to call them back...chris at SBR gave me two options, 1) send back the motor (they pay s/h) 5 days to get to PA, one day to fix it, and another 5 days to come back to CA....which I believe will take 3 weeks instead of 11 days....or 2) they would send me the motor mount I need and I will have to pay with my own money someone here locally to do the job for me since it requires a timing belt job...

I asked them if they would just send me back the motor mount and refund me $100 so I could pay a mechanic for the job and they said NO. That they are not responsible if the mechanic ####s it up....what I don't get is that I received a paper with the motor saying that the motor has no guarantee!!! wtf! so why does it matter if someone else touches it???

I already asked them to ship out the mount to me OVERNIGHT so that I get it fast. I found a mechanic that is willing to come to my house and do the job right here...it has just been a mess with SBR....

One thing is for sure, they lost me as a customer for sure...:notgood:
