Hey I'm planning on rebuilding my cylinder head on my 4G63 N/T in the next 2 weeks all the seals (other then the headgasket) seem to be leaking oil and so I figured may as well replace a couple extra things. These are the parts I'm planning on ordering:
(revised)
New SuperTech Single Coil Valve Spring Set (stage-1) $129.99
New ITM 3G Lifters set $89.00
New Graveyard Motorsports Viton Valve Stem Seals $12.99
DNJ Full Seal Kit - 6 Bolt $116.99
Timing belt kit (dont know which brands more reputable Gates or Cloyes) $60.03-62.07

Parts from:
DSMgraveyard.com
Rockauto.com

Am I missing anything?

Cylinder compression ratio's are:
4 - 147psi
1 - 140psi
2 - 135psi
3 - 149psi
so I think there good.... engines not burning coolant or oil.

Is something actually wrong that you have to change valves and springs on your n/t?

Unless your valves are bent than you don't need new valves. That is a waste of money, the old ones can be refaced. As for springs, if you are running stock cams than i would just have yours tested and reuse them. You can also get way cheaper head gasket sets on rockauto.com.

Well almost all the seals are leaking on the head so I just figured why not upgrade a little at the same time. Plus the lifters are done for the ticking's getting very annoying. The reason I'm looking at valves and springs are well the valves are better then stock and my springs are probably a little wore out.

When you say that the valve is better, what do you think is better about it? It isn't going to do anything that the stock ones aren't, especially naturally aspirated.

Ok so the valves are a little bit of a waste of money right now. This is exactly why I'm asking what people think, I want to do the valve springs to because I'd like a little extra power with added reliability. I cant afford for anything to go wrong on this car for awhile.

You will gain no power with the valve springs. You will have less of a chance of valve float, but that is about it. I would have the head cleaned, have the seats and valves faced, check springs, new valve seals and call it a day. If everything is in spec than it will last a long time.

Hopefully, I don't want to have to rip it apart again till the rings are shot on it. I plan on doing all the cleaning and polishing myself so I don't have to fork over more money. Thanx for all the help, I didnt even think of looking at rockauto.com for parts.

Just take it to Northside Engine Rebuilder on Faithful and tell them to check the head for warpage and that the valves are sealing and in good shape. That's all you really need on a n/t.

They do good work there that's for sure, got a lot of sled stuff done at their shop. The plan is to swap to a N/T with a turbo, that's why I want to get some technically unnecessary parts right now just to help the engine be able to cope with the extra power for the upcoming setup.

If your eventually going turbo you'll probably be pulling the engine for a build anyway so why not just stick with what you have that works for the time being?

What site could I find the EPN/Engnbldr lifters and BC1100 valve springs at?

Ya I will be pulling the engine and tranny when it comes time to do the turbo swap, the reason I'm even touching my head is because the cam shaft seals and spark plug seals are leaking pretty good, and with doing the timing why not fix the seals at the same time? I also though why not replace valve springs while I'm at it to, that way the head good for a loooooonnngggg time yet.

The EPN/Engnbldr valves can be found on ebay.

Check with a supporting vendor on here for the Brain Crowder BC1100 valve springs.

Before you spend your money look thu here for the vendor you want to support and check there reviews.
