hello im still a little weary about what parts to use as used or attempt to find new.

for my rebuild i have
valves
seals
guides
springs
lifers
and getting different cams for turbo set up

i will be using a 1g non turbo head for this rebuild, is this okay to use, and
the rollers, will they be fine to reuse, they dont look damaged at all in any shape or form. I just want to be sure that if this is the case i will be ok will this decision.

thanks to all who looked and replied.

And also my oil filter bracket assembly that bolts up to the oil pump. how much would this be new, 6 bolt, since i probably shouldnt slap an old/used one on a completely new motor.

The actual head castings of the turbo and non turbo head are the same.

The guides can be left in if they are still in good shape and arent damaged.
The most important stuff to use out of the turbo head are the springs and cams, rockers, lifters and other valvetrain components are the same.

The shop who does the machine work on the head can probably provide new valve seals, otherwise pick up a new set at the dealer yourself, they are pretty cheap and mandatory to replace when rebuilding the head.

Invest in a set of revised 3mm orifice lifters to get rid of the tapping noise most high milage old stock 1mm orfice lifters cause.

Edit: Didn't realize that the application was a non turbo to begin with. If using the non turbo, stick with the non turbo cams for your application, you can however use the rest of the turbo valvetrain components if you like.

have the springs checked, they tend to be weak after all the years and miles on them.

use the specs for the SBI replacement springs.

so your going from non turbo to turbo,
do the oil port mod, especially if your going to feed the turbo from the side of the head.

what valves are you going with? if you change guides the seats will need to be machined.

if the head is milled, DO NOT let the head be belt surfaced!!

depending on what HG you run will depend on the surface finish you need... but it should look about like this.
