I have to replace my inner cv boot on the passenger side. The motor is ready to drop in, I would prefer not to pull the shaft. I am trying to find a quick boot, but can only find the outer quick boots. Anybody have the hookups on this one? thanks

Sounds like you will probably have to replace the whole axle. It sucks I know but they really don't make to many boot "kits" for our cars, unless its a cheap universal one.

Your more than likely going to have to pull the shaft out. But If you don't want to buy a whole new shaft take it to a drive shaft shop and they can fix it up for a lot less than 70 bucks more than likely. I had both my shafts rebooted and it only costs me something like 40 dollars

Reviving this because it is the only thread I can find on the subject, and it doesn't answer my question.

I tore my inner cv boot last night removing my tranny. Is there still no available boot "kit" for these cars? Am I better off just grabbing a used one from the partout section? Also my engine and trans are out of the car at the moment. Should I leave them out until I get this boot taken care of? Or would it not make it that much more difficult to drop the engine in, and pull the whole shaft out of the passenger side?

I had the same problem when I replaced my engine. If you go to advance or pepboys they have a universal boot kit. I used this and I havent had any problems. You have to remove the halfshaft out the transmission and attach it back with the new boot. Its not difficult at all and the directions that come with the kit are all you need.

I don't recommend buying the Universal kit Online.

Unless, you are 100% sure that it is a good quality.

I bought one and it was like plastic bug.

I went to pepboys and they had two brands of boot kits for the car.

One was the bug kind, and the other was a really nice quality.

I couldn't put the universal boot, It slides out so easy, because it is so thin that it won't stay on place.

Check at pepboys, or napa.
