... just outta curiosity..

instead of buying a kit and spending more money than I need to ...I have a endless supply at work of brass pipe fittings... and I can take as many as I need home... just have to sign them out... good deal really ...

but Im wondering...can I just put nipples in turbo itself and elbows... and maybe use some hose barbs and just regular rubber hose... Im thinking due to the change in diameter that it might possibly flow more to the turbo... I searched and didnt seem to find any set up like I am going to try...

can anyone think of anything that might be a downfall from this type of set up?

You can do this and it will work fine. It is actually the same way I ran the coolant into my old water cooled garrett v-trim. The only problem I see that you will have is trying to find a metric brass fitting to screw into the 14b. On the garrett cartrige, the coolant holes are 3/8 npt but on the mhi turbos, the coolant holes are metric, I think 12mm, but Im not positive.

It is best to keep the rear line stock and bend if needed. Be sure to use a high-temp hose.

Did you use a 90* male to female fitting and then screw a barbed fitting into that? This would point the line down and give more clearence.

My B16G had the fitting on the back I got a stock real line for my 14B not but my front coolant line is the fitting and they work great.

thats strange.. I got a NPT (standard to fit perfectly) in the water ports .. 3/8 I think...not positive...maybe I have a aftermarket housing?

This is similar to what I am trying to do right now. Only difference is I am going to try and use Braided Stainless lines to run the oil supply, water supply and return lines. Do you happen to have a picture of this completed. Im just trying to get an idea of what it will look like. I hope with polished nipples and the braided lines this should work better then stock and look a lot better then hacked 1g/2g stock lines with banjo bolts.
