I installed my 62-1 turbonetics turbo with a -8 water feed line and -6 return line. It was the length of SS lines I had of each that made this install decision. I'm concerned with the feed line. I have a fitting on the front of the thermostat housing that has a small i.d. about 1/8" I want to take the housing off and tap a bigger thread to support a 1/4" i.d. fitting will this be needed? I'd like to relocate the bigger front thermo sensor and use that tap, but have no where to relocate it. I tried taking a look at some engine bay pics of guys running big turbos but the pics aren't clear on the cooling lines. I want to know how/what you ran your lines with and how big?

alot of the big turbos are cooled by the oil so i dnt think the heat is that big of an issue in some of the high proformance hardware. however, alot of them are ball bearing type and requre an aftermarket oil cooler so if you don't want to do any drilling try doing adding something. U could probubly pick up a stock oil cooler off of a truck at a junk yard that would work. so if you wanna do a little more thats worth the thought. i don't know what kind of boost you plan to be pushing but its always a good idea to get a little more cooling in but depending on your useage it may not be neccery.

I installed a oil cooler a long time ago when I was running my 18g. The difference was noticeable. I just didn't want to starve the water line from having inadequate fitting sizes. I plan on 30 psi someday as soon as I get everything buttoned up and tuned for the 1000cc injectors that need installing. I'm running the 720's for now. I need to update my mods on my profile I have a lot more added now.
