In my quest to reach 200mph in the standing mile, I figured it would be a good idea to be able to stop at the end of the track. I figured a good parachute would do the trick. This is what I came up with.

Once I purchase the actual parachute, I'll finish up the rest of it. I wanted to at least get the parts under the bumper cover down as I'm about to take the car up to have it wrapped flat white.

Weight savings? I couldn't tell ya as I don't have the Buschur unit. Also, when I build mine I didn't really care about weight so much. I opted for it to be stronger. The plates that mount to the car are 4" x 1/4" flat stock.

Not sure on his progress, but this is what we came up with 7 years ago. Has worked well up to 213mph so far. Pretty much the same thing. We used round tubing though.

None as of yet. The car is currently at a buddies shop getting wrapped. It was supposed to be done this weekend but he kinda got in a bar fight and someone stabbed him in the stomach. :( I did however get the chute ordered today and as soon as I get the car back it'll be done. I'm hoping a couple of weeks.

Steve, is your buddies chute bolted to the crash beam studs? I am a little worried they are strong enough. But, have seen quite a few that way.

Both that car and the colt are bolted to the bumper studs. Not a single issue. We had the bumper off a few weeks ago to repair and repaint the cover and it all looks as good as the day it went on.

Alright, here's the finished product. Just got one picture as it was late when I finished. I'm hoping to get some decent pictures soon. I'm placed with the outcome of this.

Those links appear to be to PSW's Facebook page and I'm not seeing them in the albums there so I can't fix them. You'd have to get a hold of Casey and hope he still has them, last I saw he was trying to sell his car.
