My buddy has a precision 26x6.5x3.25" fm core that he was planning on useing on his CRX. He recentely decided to up the boost and run close to 500whp. He said he would sell this core to me for 225 and make my own piping. My question is though. With these mounting plates on the back side of the core, Could I mount or even use this core?

Heres the pic.

Yeah of course! Anything is possible with enough cutting, welding, and pipe fabrication! I actually think that this intercooler should be able to fit nicely without any cutting or welding though =) Next time trying searching, there are a ton of threads on 2G intercooler core size and bumper fitment.

yes it would be possible to rig it up some how, but it would be cheaper just to go and get an Ebay core. Then once you have enough money i would say upgrade to an SBR core

all im shooting for is 300-50whp so i don't really see the point in spending a thousand dollars on a huuuuge ass fmic and such...

What do you plan on doing just running a whole bunch of supporting mods first then work your way up?

you can rig it up. i agree with you, why pay a lot for a huge fmic when you really don't need it. also some ebay intercoolers aren't badly priced and perform well. there are a few threads about ebay fmic's if you want to go cheaper than $225.
