custom fiberglass sub-box progress...

the only thing i dont like about doing those custom sound enclosures is that there no to the subwoofer's specs... im guessing you just ignored them and just made a custom enclosure that looks good?
And it sounds good?
thats been my major concern when it comes to custom fiberglass enclosures.

Your box looks hot too. I remember seeing yours a while back when you got it done. I am starting a fiberglass amp rack soon to hold the amps on the backs of the seats.

Its definitely harder to calculate the air space with making boxes that are custom molded like that. There are ways to calculate the air space by using either water or packing peanuts, but like you said it is a little trickier.

Why wouldnt they be up to specs? Its not hard att all to build the box so it matches up to specs...Just use a bag with water in it..fill it up til it almost runs ovef and meassure howmuch liters you got there..If its to big..then rebuild the box some before going on and finish the FG enclosure...if its too small..open the box up and add more space. No biggie. I made fiberglass boxes to specs and its not that hard.A little more thinking then with a MDF box but still not at all impossible in any way.

after you finish the fiberglass you want to sand that as smooth as possible... PITA but it needs to be done. Then you can use body filler to make it even smoother, than paint and clear coat

i know this was a while ago but i was wondering if anyone had ever made a fiberglass rear seat sub enclose and if they had pics
