Ok, so i got one of these boxes on ebay for my subs. It takes up the whole hatch and covers up the spare tire hole, and I think it looks pretty good. Well i asked for a setup with 3 12" and ported, and when you get it ported, he makes the box like 6 inches closer to the back seat...don't ask. Since he did that, there's only enough room for two amps. So here's the question, i know i can get it to fit, but do you think it would be safe for my 2nd battery and 3rd amp to sit in the spare tire hole under the box? I attached some of the pics off of ebay.

I like how they are but I woukld float the amps on each side Diamonds...

Only put your other battery & amp there if you make something to hold it and nothing + can get grounded and of course if you have enough room to place a amp & a battery there.

Yea, i'm gettin the battery relocation kit from jeg's. And i can make it fit, but the only thing is I'm not sure if the amp will get too hot from not getting any ventilation.

How many watts are you running? Why dont you just upgrade your first battery to a yellow top or something similar with an upgraded altenator?

If you do put a battery in the spare tire well make sure its sealed. Batteries release some toxic stuff.

A cap is just a band aid IMO unless you are just running about 1000 watts.

Oh and the reason he pry moved the box up more is to acquire more cubic feet for the subs. What setup are you running? Did you match the subs to a correct box?

Ok, i'm running about 3,500 watts, my first battery is a red top, and i'm getting a 165 amp alternator soon.

I was going to get another red top for the trunk, but the main reason i'm getting a second battery is so I can go to the drive-in, or something like that and not have to start my car every 15 minutes.

Yes, a cap is a band-aid, and would do pretty much nothing.

He made the box with dividers that run up to the ports, he doesn't really deal with SPL and all of that. I'm running 2 12" Alpine Type-S, and a 12" Alpine Type-R in the middle. And no, I didn't match the subs with the right size box.

I'll try to get some pics tomorrow.

Here's a pic of my box, but somebody please answer my original question.

Run some fans if youre really worried.

I guess if your amp cuts out from overheating youll know. And like I said before, make sure that battery is sealed or at least in a sealed box vented (like NHRA rules)....

Oh yeah, I forgot that amps cut off when they get too hot. Thanks.
