Custom cold air intake

I was just wondering what I would need to custom fabricate a cold air intake? I have a 1990 gsx and am experienced in tig welding. Id like it to look nice.

Well being in Alaska you just might be making Snoopy snow cones instead. Most people just box in the air filter into the side of the engine bay and feed it cold air from there via the front air hole. The only problem with that is the rain and dirt. I like fiberglass and CF so thats how I made mine via the hood.

unfortunatly I have the 93-94 front end conversion so that set up wont work for me dsm deliveryboy. I wouldnt mind making it out of fiberglass. Care to explain?
