My 84 200SX Turbo had no intercooler, and was still healthy at 170K when the rest of the car essentially wore out. But it also ran about four PSI, not the 12~20 common on DSMs.
I think new ideas are terrific. I've been a water injection fan for twenty years, and it was a new idea.... in the thirties. I applaud your interest, but you are not going to be able to pull enough heat out of the compressed air by introducing a fluid (of which, water would be pulling out the most) into the intake stream before having enough to bring on hydraulic locking, never mind what those kind of quantities are going to be doing to cylinder and valve stem lubrication.
But it would delight me to no end to be proven wrong. I only ask that regardless which way it winds up, you come back and give us a full accounting of the research.
