Curiosity, GST Spyder

Just out of curiousity, I wonder how fast a 97 gst spyder could run at the track. I am far far away from ever being able to take mine to the track, but when I get there, what's a reasonable goal, 12? Probably unrealistic to think it might be a 10 right? Thanks for the input!

I cant see this thread staying open long, this is pretty much bench racing. There are just way to many factors to say what your car will or might run.

Just curiosity is all. I was looking at 1/4 mile times and I did not see any spyders listed in the 10's.

Oh well, I will sit here and just daydream

For one, this thread will be locked quickly due to the bench racing. Im going to go out on a limb and say you will not run 10's. You could look through timeslips and profiles to see what people with similar setups are running, but then again thats not accurate as every car is different. That and the fact that you dont have your profile filled out at all will not help either on asking what your car will run. Bottom line.... either take it to a track or get something like a g-tech to give you a rough estimate.

He is only asking how fast a GST spyder can be. He did not imply any mods, or vs who blah blah BS. It's not Bench Racing. How can asking the potential of a car be bench racing? I don't see it.

G-techs were proven as Crap compared to the Iphone app. It's way off from what actual time is.

as far as i know right now the fastest fwd spyder runs 12.7 i think but the only limit is how much money you want to spend

Well the OP's question sounds like he is asking what it would run NOW if he went to the track. You wont be anywhere NEAR the 12's with a stock GST.

Stock 2g awd are quoted by Mitsubishi to run a 14.9. Obviously you will probably go slower as that time was with a professional driver, I would assume the spyder is heavier and an awd car should leave better.

And to answer your question, you should shoot for 12's and 10's is very unrealistic. Possible, just unrealistic, especially if you want it to be a street car. Money is the only limit, but lets face it, if you had unlimited funds you probably wouldn't have bought a DSM in the first place.

P.S. Just go the for AWD swap, AWD spyders are the sickness

I believe part of the problem would be a need for a roll cage eventually. This would take away some of the top down fun in people's opinions I'm sure so they just don't do it.

Ya i would say you would run somewhere around mid 15's low 16's. But as everyone said it all depends how you drive your car and what you have done to it. There are ALOT of factors that go into determining how fast your car is, so your not going to get an exact time just more like a ballpark range.....
