97 GSt spyder in deep shit...

Hey whats up.. I live in Sacramento and I wanted to post up here for help with my 2g dsm. Its bogging down and shit and its hella pissing me off. The turbo spools up but the car doesnt respond (doesnt charge forward). I can only get it up to like 85 mph. its buggin the crap out of me I just want it to run perfect again.. Can anyone help. THX

Oh thought you where talking about my car anyways I live it stockton there are alot of DSMers around this place you try the local guys? If ya want you could come over and I can take a look at it I own a 97' spyder also

Could you describe the problem more?

Did you do any modifications recently that may have created this problem?

Did this start to happen after you ran the car hard?

i never did run this car hard. Before this one i had a 99 GST hardtop and I raced that one into the ground. I gutted the cat.. never replaced the bottom o2 sensor, did replace the top. honestly im hella frustrated about it and im almost ready to take it to a shop.. only prob is i used to take it to RRE in so cal but thats wqay too far now. if someone has a datalogger or some trouble shooting device that could help me that would be sweet.

Their are a few of us over here am sure we could find your problem, Right now am in the process of installing my HEAD, but if you want you can come over we could go as far as even hooking up my DSMlink and see whats going on if worse comes to worse. do a boost leak test, when I blew my compressor outlet gasket my top speed was reduced to 115, 85 mph with a big leak is believable, and the stalling and bogging backs up a boost leak as well.

The problem doesn't sound too serious from what you described. Maybe more details. And what you have done to see what the problem is. As DSM owners it is expected you keep up with the maintenance and try to find out whats going on. OR maybe not and thats why we have this problem to begin with jk.

Any dummy lights on? Do a boost leak test?
