This is getting expensive. My new 6bolt swap that is now done and car seems to run nicely with no smoke in between shifts or out the exhaust.Theres no oil drops on the ground after it sits all night. And somehow 1/2 quart of oil per day is getting out.The only oil i can see a small drip is at the jpipe thing that comes off the oil pan up to the turbo.it looks like its slightly leaking from there but not a half quart a day! :( My question i guess is...Could this be NOT leaking in my driveway but skeeting out under wide open throttle under boost? Any suggestions? theres no oil around the valve cover area and this is a clean engine so i thought this would be easy to tack down but its not. Please help. Thanks

Total shot in the dark here, but I thought I would mention it anyway. I had a very similar problem, no visible leaking and certainly not buring it, but was losing a quart a week. Found it to be the oil sending unit. When it goes bad it doesn't leak when the car is not running, so no signs under car. Besides the missing oil, the only visible sign that I had of something wrong, was under WOT, my oil pressure dropped slightly instead of increasing. Found out that when under heavy acceleration, oil will go back into the unit, causing the drop in pressure according to the gauge. Other than those two things, there was no evidence of what was wrong. After replacing the unit, it solved the problems. So just a thought to consider. Good luck :thumb:

What does the oil pressure sending unit look like? Thanks for your info

Not sure exactly where it is on a 2g. I will try to find out for you if no one else responds to this thread and can answer the question for ya.

it hangs down on the drivers side by the wheel well. Kinda below the crank pulley. You know where the oil pump is right? Its down there.

The J type looking thing is the oil return line for the turbo. Did you do this swap yourself?

Sorry, meant to say that I am not sure if the unit is the same with a turbo set-up, not a 2g  . Since mine is a n/t, I am not sure if the "J type looking thing" is exactly what I am referring to? I am almost positive that it is not. I just know the symptoms are similar to what I experienced and thought I might mention it if no one else can think of anything. Like I said earlier, the most noticeable sign of it failing was the loss in oil pressure when WOT. If this is occurring, check into it, if not...ignore everything I said and good luck! :thumb:
