272's are great for mid-top end. They will allow the valvetrain to outflow a 14b quite a bit, but should be a good match for a 16g in the future.

This question is up to the owner of the vehicle. At what point do you change the tires? At what point do you recirculate the BOV? Personally, I would upgrade springs, but I'm also paranoid.

Your friend will see severe torque and hp loss on a 14b. The 272/272 has a mid to high powerband range which will not be working with the 14b because it is a low spooling turbo which will has the most power with stock cams. Have your friend check-out the AMS cam tests; AMSPerformance.com. As Crower cams, he will need to upgrade his springs and retainers.

The 14b will be just fine with those cams. Going to a larger turbo will increase the power potential of the engine, but he won't notice any severe losses of power, at least not in the upper rpm range. My car has a built 6-bolt with FP2x cams and I still run the 14b at 16psi. Above 4000 rpms, you can really feel things open up.
