Thanks for the vids Viper & Turbo 23!!
Vid 1 Thats it show off about $300 worth of carbide burrs!
Vid 2 Yeah make it seem it does not take long with the sancpaper rolls
They will not share but I will, exhaust flow needs to be a min of 60% of intake flow.
Vid 3 Can't show the short turn work? or.. will not?
Turbo23, the 4g exhaust may not need alot of work on the exhaust side, But the 2.3 Ford... well we both know that is a diffrent story!

Its very rare Dale, that any legit cylinder head shop even shows this much or even talks about it on the internet. We figured we would show how the frosting looks for the cake but the ingredients we will keep to ourselves.
Bogus- Those 2.3 heads are the reason I bought my first mp3 player.. 4g stuff is easy in comparision!
Oh I know and agree, it is seldom anything done in a machine shop is shown or spoken of, even less so with port work.
People are lucky if base flow info is posted on a non modified head, let alone the after numbers.
I have said this over and over, Not all machine shops have the same equipment, knowlage or skill.
It is hard or next to impossiable, for a new guy who wants to do his first engine build to know what to look for and ask when he walks through the door of the shop.
Hence all the "sub par" machining that gets done, and why alot of DIY engine builds fail.
I would say surface finish is the big thing with me, I have just seen so much fail with that both localy and on the net.
ANY halfway dencent machine shop should have at a min a segment stone surfacer, or a multi speed rotory broach.
Not a damn belt surfacer.
/ surfacing rant
Now back to the porting discussion!
Yeah you are right on that point, I would bet you can do 3 stage 3 ports on a 4g faster than you can do a stage one on a 2.3!!
VERY INFORMATIVE! I'm always overwhelmed going to machine shops. Have you thought about making a thread "What to look for in a machine shop" or something similar?
Awesome thread. Subscribed.
