OP: Check your timing belt, if the engine is cranking and the cams aren't spinning then your timing belt probably snapped. If you are talking about oil being in the sparkplug wells then it could be as simple as a bad valve cover gasket, but don't worry, that will be replaced when you tear apart the engine to replace your trashed valves from the broken timing belt.

Or is it just not cranking at all?
 
Sounds like symptoms of a bad timing belt and leaking valve cover gasket.
