I have a 1997 GSX 5 Speed(105k miles). I am noticing that my clutch is getting softer on the left turns so I am doing my reasearch. I have few questions. Now I know that the best swap that people do is the 6 bolt swap. Now I have read many threads about it and I also know where to get more information on it but thats not one of my questions. My question would be ............Wouldn't it be better for me to swap a 2.4 out of a galant or a spyder that is 7 BOLT? You see I belive that 2.4 7 bolt will be a drop in instead of some sort of modification being required. Now i have another question. I have found a galant from 94 with factory 4g64 that has dohc head on it from factory. Now everything looks the same as on my 2g. So, are the sensorts are all the same? Such as like crank angle sensor? What if i would swap my head on it, would all the sensors be good to go? I also belive 4g64 were not infected with the virus called crankwalk. The reason being is because these are completely two different blocks and the completely different cranks. So anyone who has any information on a 7 bolt 2.4 out of a galant Please let me know.

The 2.4L galant block and crank mated with your 2G head would basically make a 2.4L stroker. All of you 2.0L parts will fit the 2.4L block (ei. head, motor mounts, accessories, front cover parts). The only sensor you will have to worry about is the knock sensor. And there is a place for it on the back of the block - it just needs to be threaded. Read this thread for more details.

I've read many rumors of the 7-bolt stroker crankwalking, but I've personally never seen proof. The more popular block seems to be the G4CS block, but either will work.

Thanks for the link but i have read that post before. I just would like to khow if people have build 7 bolt 2.4 and have not crankwalk. It seems that everyone just wants to go 6 bolt either 2.0 or 2.4 but i just wanted to see if people have run 7 bolt 2.4 without throuble. I could get the block from hyndai 6 bolt 2.4 and be done but i dont know if it will bolt right up in the 2g or i would have to trim something like in average 6 bolt swap. But thanks anyway. Just doint my research while my car is stored for winter. Anyone running 2.4 7 bolt with doch head turbo let me know what you have to go thru when you put it in. Thanks again.
