I did some archive reading but wanted to get a recent report on what the consensus is on the 4g64 7 bolts. Are they any more or less prone to crankwalk or is this still an unknown?

I heard of Andrew Brilliant (username gixxerdrew on nabr and BICTURBO on talk) got crankwalk but they think that might be assembly error.

Chris Carey - Built 2.4 7 bolt walked in 1800miles. And the company that assembled it. Did every trickthat they know of to prevent CW to this motor. And it still went out.

He got it running, did the break in miles went to the Dyno put down 430 something on an AWD Dyno, and then drove to the Shoot out. Cracked his Exhaust manifold 1st run.

Then limped the car home. Got almost home when the car just died. - (Crank Sensor went)

tore the car apart that fallowing weekend. and from the way he describes it the crank just clanks back and forth.

But there a heap of them out there running fine and making big horsepower!
