Yeah, it'd be nice to copy paste here. I could give a rat's ass anyhow since I do not own a 7 bolt... and NO, swapping to a 6bolt is not a cure for crankwalk. It sounds all smart and snappy to say so, but it's simply not a solution. That's like, well, your honda sucks, time to trade it for a corvette. Finding a way to fix the honda into not sucking would be a solution, not replacing it all together.

A buddy of mine here in Colorado springs that runs jackstransmissions.com has been building 7 bolt strokers for years and not one has come back with crankwalk. He has had two stroker 6 bolt cranks break in the same spot and he believes the 7 bolt 2.4 crank is stronger. Crankwalk is over rated and if I remember right was reported in less than 15% of 7 bolt cars.

haha mine walked with 137,000 miles on it! OUCH!

Last I heard, crankwalk was due to bad quality control on the 2g cranks. Also, if your motor has 60k miles or more on it and it hasn't walked, you're probably okay and there is no need for a cure.

My brothers 95 gst has 125k miles on it when it spun a rod bearing and when we pulled the engine I decided to measure the endplay just for the hell of it and it was a couple thousands out of spec. With more time his would have crankwalked after 60k miles.

Although if I were still running 7 bolts I would still be more concered about my connecting rods, but I have a higher thirst for power than most people.

Best cure for crankwalk is preventiveness like abstance works for not having babys and std's. Preventiveness don't get a car with a 7 bolt!
