After changing the timing belt on my car, I attempted to start it with no luck. The CEL came on, so I pulled the code and was given a Crankshaft Position Sensor error. The CPS was connected at the harness, so I ran through the tests listed in the manual. It is receiving 12v from the PCM, the resistance is over 900 ohms, and I believe it's supposed to be 2 ohms (I'm not 100% sure that I'm measuring this correctly). I then removed the sparkplug wires and cranked the engine while back-probing the CPS. According to the manual, this value is supposed to fluctuate between .4 and 4 volts. My readings where around 6.3v when stationary and dropped to a constant 5.6v during cranking.
One thing to note: after reinstalling my CPS, the cap managed to break off, so the leads are exposed now, but the cap was only a piece of black plastic and I didn't think it would make a difference. I plan on changing the CPS now, but want to make sure it's nothing else. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
