Hey guys, I am still trying to figure out what is up with my car. I am in a rush to get this ready, I have to have it ready by saturday which is homecomming day!

Anyway, my car has been starting rough and was bogging pretty bad. I thought it was bogging because I had no air intake on. The other day I put my AEM air intake on and wanted to see if that would help it. Nope, as soon as I give it any gas it all it basically stalls out. It keeps running but it is very close to stalling.

I have found a knock sensor broken on the back of my engine. I haven't gotten to replace it yet. So i was thinking that could cause my hard starting issue. When it started bogging though I then thought maybe its not getting fuel in time? If it wasnt getting fuel would it crank for awhile? And if it wasn't getting the right fuel would it bog like this?

I have replaced my plugs so its not that. Is there anyway I can test if fuel is getting there in time? Sorry for the long read, I just really need to get this going as fast as possible! Thanks guys

if it wasn't getting fuel, it wouldn't crank at all. knock sensor also wouldn't really cause this kind of problem.

of course it's hard as f*** to troubleshoot over a forum but it sounds like a vacuum leak ( unless you're smelling fuel & then i'd check your injectors ). when you can, just scout through your bay and make sure all the vacuum lines are connected and in " decent " condition ya know ? let me know what's up.

Thanks for the replies guys. I forgot to mention I had to cut off my flex and weld a new one on my exhaust, so the o2 sensor might be bit different cause the flex is still off. When you say timing issue, do you mean as in my timing belt is off? And I am not to sure of ALL the vacuum lines to check, any help with that?

check all the lines coming off your intake manifold & any other lines floating around the bay.

and not to interrupt the timing question but, i think DSM1G90 means your car could be out of time. maybe to advanced but not positive.

How can I check the timing of the engine? And I do remember one vacuum hose on top of the engine had a rubber elbow that was dry rotted and had holes in it

Extended cranking times and bogging on acceleration are indicative of a fueling issue. Assuming you haven't messed with timing or anything of that nature.

Also a vacuum leak would have to be massive like giant intake gasket leak or something of that nature to cause the symptoms you described. Check fuel pressure and spark plug and wire integrity.

Thanks a lot for all these replies guys, I have homecoming tomorrow so i need to get this thing running! Alright, so my plugs and plug wires have been replaced and are good. I haven't checked timing yet due to me being in school. I was thinking it could be a fuel symptom aswell, how can I check if my fuel filter and pressure is good? Am I leaning more towards my timing being off, or fuel problems here?

Timing doesn't screw up on its own unless you have a belt failure or something of that nature. You'll need a fuel pressure gauge to check pressure. Also worth mentioning is that it could be a clogged converter.
